Edutainment?

There is some superb media work being done in some of the larger churches in the US. Getting popular are video trailers or intros to sermons or series of messages. Here is an effective Easter ‘trailer’ from National Community church in Washington.

All I can say is that there are some very talented and well-resourced ministries out there. I love seeing high quality resources like this being used.

Certainly it is great to see gifted individuals apply very professional skills to create multimedia. However, I can already begin to sense the feelings of pressure that other churches feel in trying to pursue this level of ‘edutainment’.

However, what is excellent is that many churches such as www.lifechurch.tv are making their resources freely available. For example, you can download materials to support their series ‘Satan’s Sex Ed’ including videos and graphics.

I love this generosity of spirit in a ministry …
