eNewsletters to try (2 of 5)

Last Friday I pointed you towards Rick Warren’s Ministry Toolbox newsletter. The archived issues have got some great material so I trust you found something of interest.

This week, take a look at this well-established newsletter from the John C Maxwell. This popular author has written a substantial number of books on character and leadership and this regular email digest often contains some good articles on similar themes.

Leadership Wired

Leadership Wired is aimed at both church and business leaders and contains a lead article from John Maxwell together with some supporting items such as interviews or book reviews. Perhaps not everything will be of interest, but it does pick up on a lot of thought-trends that affect the workplace.

It is also a great place to collect quotations (always useful for blogging, sermons, teaching notes, etc…!). Here is a great one from an edition in 2003:

“Men make history, and not the other way around. In periods where there is no leadership, society stands still. Progress occurs when courageous, skillful leaders seize the opportunity to change things for the better.” – Harry S. Truman

How true this is of the church as well as for government.
